How to Make an Origami Shark Instructions:

Step 1 – Establish your base folds and Creases

First, you'll need a sheet of square origami paper. If you don't have any origami paper, you can also use a regular sheet of printer paper. Just make sure to fold it in half so that it's nice and square. If you don't have square paper, measure and trace to cut out a piece of square paper using a ruler.

Take the square paper sheet and fold the paper into half diagonally on both sides to create creases.

It's important to get the base creases folded neatly and ready, so fold any two of the large triangle parts and the unfold them. You should now have all of the base creases ready.

History of Origami

Origami is an ancient art form that has its origins in Japan. Unlike other forms of paper folding, origami does not require the use of glue or scissors. Instead, it relies on a system of precise folds and creases to transform a flat sheet of paper into a three-dimensional sculpture.

The word "origami" comes from the Japanese words "ori", meaning "to fold", and "kami", meaning "paper". Today, origami is enjoyed by people of all ages around the world and is considered to be both an art form and a science.
